Today is the anniversary of the first time Black Sabbath appeared on Television with all the original members after 20 years. Ozzy was fired back in 1978 because his excessive drug use was affecting the band. He was replaced by former Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Almost 20 years later 1997 just before Christmas Black Sabbath played two reunion shows at the Birmingham NEC, with Ward back in the seat and Ozzy back at the mic. The performance was captured for a new live album “Reunion”. October 30th, 1998, the original Black Sabbath appeared on TV for the first time in more than 20 years to promote their live Reunion live album, with an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman.
