This week in the garage I’m focusing on singers who started off as a part of band...but then broke away to do their own solo thing. Peter Gabriel began as the lead singer of Genesis...but never really reached “superstar’” status until going solo in 1977. His most successful solo album to date is 1986′s “So” which included “Sledgehammer”, “Big Time”, and “In Your Eyes.” Today’s choice from the garage is “Shock The Monkey” which was included on his fourth solo album simply titled “Peter Gabriel” released in 1982.
