First of all...you gotta love the family pic, right? I’m terrible with years...but this one has to be from around 2008. That would put my oldest at 12, my middle son at 9, and my youngest around 6. And look at that team diversity! My wife is from Chicago...which explains her and the oldest boy’s Urlacher jerseys. My other two sons were born in Wisconsin while I was working as the public address announcer at Lambeau Field. Enough said. And yes...yours truly is the only Cowboys fan in the bunch! Loved them since childhood with #33 Tony Dorsett being my boyhood idol. But enough of that...let’s get to the picks...

AFC

Honestly...who really cares? We’re an NFC family! But I’ve got the Chiefs and Bills hooking up for the AFC Championship with KC once again returning to the big game.

I’m gonna go ahead and cover all three of the family teams with predictions:

Bears...much improved with the new rookie #1 pick at QB. Maybe...MAYBE...a one-and-done wildcard team

Packers...not gonna catch anyone by surprise this year. Might not make the playoffs. Might get in as a wildcard. They’ll be taking a step backwards this year.

Cowboys...it’s opening weekend. Don’t we pretty much ALWAYS feel good on opening weekend? Look...they have the talent to go all the way. That’s not a homer take. It’s a fact. The question is the same question that comes up every year. What will keep them from reaching their potential? I honestly feel better about this year than I have in a while. I like them to the NFC Championship where they will eek out a 4 point victory over Detroit.

Dallas VS KC in the Big Game. You’ll have to wait a bit on that prediction. It’s only opening weekend for cryin’ out loud!
