If you are traveling this week for Thanksgiving, here are some things you may want to know.

Looks like it’s going to be an extra busy travel week this year. AAA predicts that nearly 80 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home between Tuesday and next Monday, most by car. Most but not all, TSA is predicting that 3 million people will pass through airport security checkpoints on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be the next-busiest air travel days of Thanksgiving week. That’s a lot of people! To avoid some hassles at the airport there are some things you need to know, obviously arriving early and you should know what is not allowed. TSA is advising people traveling with Thanksgiving food dishes to pack them in their checked baggage. Cranberry sauce, creamy dips, spreads, gift baskets that contain liquid, mustard, salsa, jams and salad dressings should all be packed.

This puzzles me, because in my whole life I have never been compelled to board a plane with my famous Turkey Gravy, I mean it is good, but I have never felt the need to bring it with me to Lubbock. People in Lubbock are known to make some really good gravy; it would make me appear to be some kind of a gravy elitist, and I don’t need that in life.

I’m not here to judge so if it’s your thing, good for you. TSA has a list on its website of items that are banned or restricted.
