Day one spotlighting some of the greatest guitar players in Rock history...so I figured might as well go big to kick things off. All you have to do is say the name “Jimi”...and everyone immediately knows who you’re talking about. Let’s start with the fact that he was left-handed...but was famous for playing a right-handed Fender Strat flipped upside down and re-strung for his left-handed style. He did things with a guitar that nobody had ever seen or heard before. From his early days playing small, obscure clubs...to stealing the show at Woodstock...Hendrix defined a style, a sound, and an entire generation. Here’s the famous footage of him setting his guitar on fire...both figuratively and literally...at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.
