February 11 marks the 40th anniversary of The Firms first album.

The Firm

The Firm were a British rock supergroup formed in 1984, featuring singer Paul Rodgers, guitarist Jimmy Page, drummer Chris Slade, and bassist Tony Franklin. In the early 1980s, Page and Rodgers were both dealing with the downfall of Led Zeppelin and Bad Company. The story goes Page started hanging out at Rodgers home studio and the began writing songs, just writing songs, no plans beyond that. It wasn’t long before that had some promising material, so they decided to put together a band. Drummer Chris Slade, and bassist Tony Franklin joined the pair for what would become The Firm. The band released two albums over two years with their biggest hits being “Radioactive”, “All the King’s Horses”, and “Satisfaction Guaranteed”.
