Thanksgiving Day 2014, KISS was invited to ride the float sponsored by Gibson Guitars for the 88th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Th band was set to perform while on top of a massive float surrounded by a youth dance team in full KISS style makeup. The night before the parade the band was informed, they would be playing Gibson Guitars while on the float. Well, that was a problem because Paul Stanley had a deal to play Washburn guitars. So, parade officials said not worry they would provide the band with another float.
When the guys arrived at the stagging aera, they were shocked at the sight of the new float, a plane white trailer with a couple of microphones. Needless to say, the guys were furious, but the show must go on. (Video below)
Afterward Pual went to twitter to voice his anger.
Bluntly, We were screwed over & misled by the exec in charge of #MacysThanksgivingDayParade . We ALL deserved better. pic.twitter.com/hUVUN9gTqE

Paul Twitted about it again in 2020 but seem to be a bit calmer about the situation.
